Out with the Old

This was a deck and railing system in need of a new structure and facelift. We did a full demolition of the existing second-story deck, leaving only the existing steal post foundations and beams. The main structure of the new build consists of the addition of new framing members to reinforce the existing posts and beams. We used 2x10 material to create the new floor framing and also the new stairs. The deck surface consists of 5/4 x 6-inch treated deck boards in a picture frame format. This process covers the end grain of the deck boards and just gives a nicer finish all the way around. Our clients chose a black, Westbury aluminum rail system that really complimented their home nicely.
